Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to request deletion of your personal data from Phairo. We take your right to be forgotten seriously. You can request deletion of your account data at any time — no questions asked.

What Data Phairo Holds

When you register and use Phairo, we collect and store the following categories of data:

* GST invoices and financial records may be retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law (CGST Act, 2017 Section 36). These records are retained in a locked state and are not used for any other purpose.

How to Request Data Deletion

You have three ways to request deletion of your data:

From within the Phairo app

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Confirm your identity with an OTP on your registered WhatsApp number. Your account and all associated data will be queued for deletion within 24 hours.

By email request

Send an email to support@phairo.in with the subject line Data Deletion Request. Include your registered phone number and shop name. We will verify your identity and confirm deletion within 72 hours.

Via WhatsApp

Send the message DELETE MY DATA from your registered WhatsApp number to our support number. Our bot will initiate a verified deletion flow and confirm once complete.

Important: Data deletion is permanent and irreversible. Before requesting deletion, we recommend exporting your billing history, GST data, and inventory records from Settings → Export Data. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

What Happens After You Request Deletion

Immediately
Account access revoked
You are logged out of all sessions. Your WhatsApp bot commands stop working. No new data can be entered.
Within 24 hours
Personal data deleted
Your name, phone number, email, location, inventory, customer data, and WhatsApp logs are permanently deleted from our primary database.
Within 30 days
Backup systems purged
Your data is removed from all encrypted backup snapshots and disaster recovery systems. After 30 days, no trace of your personal data remains on any Phairo infrastructure.
Up to 7 years
GST records retained (locked)
If applicable, GST invoices and financial records are retained in a locked, encrypted archive as required by the CGST Act 2017. These records are not used for any other purpose and are accessible only if required by law.
After 7 years
All data permanently destroyed
The locked GST archive is permanently destroyed after the mandatory 7-year retention period. No data remains.

Facebook / Meta Login Data

If you connected your Phairo account via Facebook Login or any Meta integration, the following applies:

After your deletion request is completed, we will send a confirmation to your registered email address confirming that your data has been permanently removed from our systems.
